				September 
				Library Fall Session.  Story Time and Craft Sign-up for 
				the Lincoln Public Library’s Fall Session will begin 
				mid-September. 
				Sep 30
				Lincoln Farmer’s Market.  Come out to Latham Park in 
				Lincoln, IL to purchase fresh produce from the local growers!  
				The Market begins at 7 AM and will continue until 12 PM.

				Elkhart Farmer’s Market.  Fresh local produce, farm fresh 
				eggs, honey, baked goods, fresh and dried flowers, spices, 
				crafts and much more will be for sale at Horsefeathers.  The 
				Elkhart Farmer’s Market will be held every Saturday from 8 AM to 
				12 PM.

				Elkhart Fall Celebration!  Elkhart will be hosting their 
				Fall Celebration on September 30th, in their downtown 
				district.  Events include: People’s Choice Chili Cook off—prizes 
				for chili and booth decorations; Farmer’s Market—produce from 
				local gardens/farms; Home baked goods—from Elkhart’s best cooks; 
				 Flea market—find a treasure; Craft show/sale—get a head start 
				on Christmas shopping; Kids events—including a special program 
				at the Library and games uptown; Downtown merchants--- special 
				promotions so be sure to visit; Car show/Cruise in—the more the 
				merrier; The Freedom Truck—you won’t want to miss this; Open 
				houses throughout the Village of homes and properties for 
				sale/rent; Displays by various sponsors—opportunities to inform; 
				Food by local groups—help our local organizations and enjoy the 
				food; A raffle of an ATV—a great opportunity for a super gift; 
				Entertainment on main street—surprises in store for all.  
				There’s plenty of opportunity to help out and help us showcase 
				our Village.  Plan to take part, and invite your friends to

				Emden Cruise-In.  Drive on out to Emden to enjoy their 
				Car Cruise-In.  There will be food and drinks, a 50/50 drawing,

				Elevator Community Weiner Roast.  The J. H. Hawes 
				Elevator will be hosting their Annual Weiner Roast for the

				 Lincoln Masonic Lodge Meeting.  The Lincoln Masonic 
				Lodge #210 will be meeting on the 1st and 3rd

				Rules of the Road.  The Secretary of State’s office is 
				now offering a Rules of the Road course free of charge to all 
				interested parties.  The course will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm.  
				This course is designed to help you become a better/safer driver 
				and to assist individuals who may have to take the written exam 
				or the behind the wheel test administered by the drivers license 
				facility.  No registration is required for this class.

				Abraham Shrine #100 Meeting.  On the first Wednesday of 
				each month, the Abraham Shrine #100 Order of White Shrine of 
				Jerusalem will be holding their meetings.  Meetings begin at 
				7:30.

				Crop Walk.  Come on out to Latham Park between 2 PM & 4 
				PM to participate in the annual Crop Walk.  This Church World 
				Service event is being held in honor of the founders, Henry FA 
				Bock and Harold Gockel.  Twenty Percent of all proceeds of the 
				walk will remain in Logan County to benefit CIEDC.  For more

				 Broadwell Sesquicentennial.  Come and join the Village 
				of Broadwell in celebrating their 150th Birthday!  
				The Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County, the 
				Broadwell Christian Church, the Pig Hip Museum, the Logan 
				Railsplitting Association, and the Village of Broadwell will be 
				coming together to bring this social community afternoon event

				Habitat for Humanity Annual Recognition Dinner / Dance. 
				Habitat for Humanity will hold the dinner/dance at the American 
				Legion on 5th Street in Lincoln. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., 
				dinner is served at 6:00, and the recognition program and the 
				dance are at 7:00.  In addition to recognizing those who have 
				been significant supporters of Habitat during the year, this 
				event is also a fund raiser for Habitat. Tickets may be 
				purchased in advance at A.G. Edwards & Sons, MKS Jewelers, or by

				Lincoln York Rite Bodies Meeting.  The Lincoln York Rite 
				Bodies will be holding their monthly meetings on the third 
				Thursday of each month.  The potluck will begin at 6:30, 
				followed by the main meeting at 7:30.

				Tour Elkhart Hill.  Come to Downtown Elkhart at 11 AM to 
				catch the tour of Elkhart Hill.  This historic landmark will 
				surely take your breath away as you ride to the top and back 
				down, learning about the famous people and events that have been 
				there as you go.  Tours are always weather permitting, and the 
				group will return to the downtown area within a few hours.

				Knapp Library and Museum Annual Turkey Dinner.  The Knapp 
				Library and Museum will be holding it’s annual turkey dinner 
				this year in the Lincoln Community High School cafeteria in

				ART 
				SPECTACULAR! at the Carillon.  Artists from throughout the Midwest will gather on 
				Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22 (Saturday 10-5; Sunday 
				noon-5), for the first juried fine art & craft fair at the 
				Carillon (Washington Park, Chatham Rd & Fayette St., 
				Springfield, IL).  In addition to the visual enjoyment of 
				beautiful artwork, the Carillon & invited musicians will fill 
				the air with beautiful music throughout the event.  There will 
				also be food vendors, and a kids' tent featuring art & music 
				activities & art available to purchase.  Admission to the Art

				Harvest of Talents for World Hunger.  The Lincoln 
				Christian Church Community Center at 204 N.  McLean Street will 
				be hosting daylong activities benefiting the International 
				Disaster Emergency Service. Enjoy crafts, entertainment, and 
				home-cooked food, available for dine-in or carryout through the 
				day.  Historic tours will also be available again this year, in 
				conjunction with the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan 
				County.  Since its inception in 1983, Harvest of Talents has 
				raised over $1,108,100 to feed the hungry around the world

				costume contest held, and 15 different agencies will be there to 
				provide games and informational booths.  Prizes and treats will

				Holiday Open House.  All day long in Downtown Lincoln

				A-Team Soup Supper.  The Atlanta A-Team will be holding

				the Prairie Folk Art and Craft Show.

				Festival of Trees.  Friendship Manor will be hosting 
				their 2006 Festival of Trees from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (daily) on 
				December 1 – 10th.  All trees and wreaths will be 
				sold as a Silent Auction.  Sheets will be placed with the trees 
				and wreaths and anyone may bid at their leisure.  The highest 
				bid on Sunday evening, December 10th, will be the 
				winning bid of the individual trees or wreaths.  All proceeds go 
				toward Lincoln/Logan Charities.  Meals will be served daily – 
				dine in the midst of the glitter of Tensile Town and what a 
				beautiful sight to see.  Fresh baked goods will be for sale

				Christmas Open House.  Come out to the Postville 
				Courthouse State Historic Site, 5th St. Lincoln from 12 - 4

				Christmas in the Chapel.  Come and join Elkhart in 
				celebrating Christmas in the Chapel.  This annual event has 
				drawn in visitors from across central Illinois.  There will be

				Santa Comes to Town.  Santa Claus himself will be at the 
				Mt. Pulaski Courthouse for the third annual Mt. Pulaski Santa 
				Comes to Town.  Santa will be available to talk to the kiddies, 
				for photos, and there will also be gifts, refreshments, and open 
				businesses. 
				Dec 2 
				Christmas on the Hill.  Mt. Pulaski will be hosting it’s 
				Fourth Annual Christmas on the Hill celebration, complete with 
				Santa Claus, home tours, Christmas Tree auctions, and two (2) 
				cash prize drawings.  (There will be two cash drawings - $250 & 
				$100.  To register for the drawing, you need to be 16 years or 
				older - go to the courthouse & fill out a card.  You need to be 
				present to win.   Registration cards will only be given out at

				the annual Christmas Parade in Lincoln, IL.  The Parade will
