Lifesaving
course, indoor fitness equipment, and classes or programming with a
personal trainer
From Roy
Logan, program coordinator
[August
21, 2007]
As summer winds down we are already preparing
for next year's pool season. Anyone interested in getting his or her
professional rescue lifesaving certification may do so next week.
This should give current lifeguards who would need to be recertified
or young people looking for summer employment opportunities an
advantage. Kathy Batley, a certified CPR and lifeguard instructor,
will lead the class. This course will include swimming, CPR, AED and
first aid. The cost is $150 per person, with registration and an
informational meeting Tuesday (Aug. 21) at the Lincoln Park District
Sports Center. The class will be offered at the Sports Center Aug.
28-30, from 7 to 9 each evening. People interested may contact the
instructor at 735-2156. Preregistration is a must so that enough
materials will be available.

We are pleased to announce that we now have an online site. For a
general overview of the Lincoln Park District, visit
www.lincolnparkdistrict.com. From there, check out what we are
doing or go to our "Contact Us" page for answers to your questions.
We will do our best to respond to your e-mail as soon as possible.
As we begin to think about moving our exercise programs indoors,
it's time to fit into fall and feel fabulous at the Sports Center.
Our facility features strength and cardio equipment from Paramount,
Hammer Strength, Cybex and Nautilus, to name a few. Plus, exclusive
to Lincoln, the Sports Center is a full-service recreation center
for the whole family, including showers, locker rooms and gym
access. Our group exercise classes are included in a full access or
circuit membership.
Personal training, offered to members, is exclusive one-on-one
training that gets you the results you want and the healthy
lifestyle we should be following. Work side by side with our
certified personal trainer, or choose the Friends in Training
program to work out as a twosome and split the cost of sessions
while working out together with our trainer. Stop by soon because
these sessions fill quickly and the offer is only through September.
