The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Bingo sponsored by St. Clara's Manor St Clara's Manor will
sponsor the Thursday bingo games at The Oasis, beginning at 1 p.m.
Memories class
The monthly memories class is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in
the library at the senior center. No reservation is necessary.
Participants are asked to bring their own pen and paper to learn
skills needed to preserve memories for families and friends.
Food distribution at Carroll Catholic
The Self Help and Resource Exchange distribution will be at
Carroll Catholic School cafeteria on Friday, between 4 and 5:30 p.m.
The SHARE program is an outreach sponsored by the Catholic Diocese
of Peoria. For more information, call 732-6132. The program will be
back at The Oasis in September.
Oasis closed
The Oasis will be closed Monday. Activities will resume the
following day.

Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Aug. 28 features chicken and rice,
vegetable, salad, dessert, and drink for $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay
and play cards. Reservation deadline is Monday noon.
Bingo at the Rec
Computer "Odd or Even Night" offers cash rebates. For a $12
computer, get back $4; for a $16 computer, get back $8; and for a
$20 computer, get back $12. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games begin
at 6:50 p.m. All proceeds go to the senior center to provide
services and activities for Logan County.
Winners for the week announced
Henry Warnisher and Larry Van Bibber were the weekday pinochle
winners. Alice Petro was the weekend winner. The winners at
five-in-one were Dorothy Oltmanns and Bernie DePuy. The rummy
winners were Mary Fuller and Betty Burger. Congratulations to all.
