Hampton Inn's Lynn Paulus, of
Champaign Hotel Ventures, LLC, announced Thursday that the public is
invited to a groundbreaking ceremony in Lincoln on Monday at 10:30
a.m. A brand-new Hampton Inn will be built just north of the Cracker
Barrel in Lincoln and will be highly visible from Interstate 55.

The 64-room hotel is being designed as part of the "Hometown"
prototype series, which was created to compete in smaller markets,
with a population under 50,000, while still keeping all of the
amenities that guests expect from Hampton Inn. The hotel will
feature rooms with two queen-sized beds, king-sized beds, suites and
whirlpool suites. The facility will also have an indoor pool,
fitness center and a meeting room. Champaign Hotel Ventures is
owned by the Rick McGraw family, Lynn Paulus and Bob Plummer. The
hotel will be built by Main Street Builders from DeForest, Wis.
The hotel will be managed by Jenna McGraw, director of
operations, and Lynn Paulus, business manager of Hotel Ventures
Management Company, LLC. The management company also manages hotels
in Champaign, Litchfield and Evansville, Ind.
The Hampton Inn in Litchfield was recognized in 2006 with the
Circle of Excellence Award for being in the top 10 percent of all
Hamptons for product and service cleanliness.
Ms. Paulus has indicated that the new hotel will be working with
the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County to put together
special travel packages for guests and will be directly marketing to
the motor coach industry.

"In talking with my tourism counterparts in Litchfield, I know that
Hampton Inn has made a big difference in bringing hotel guests to
that community, and I expect it to do the same here," says Geoff
Ladd, local tourism director. He has also indicated that Lincoln is
in need of another hotel and that he is looking forward to working
with the Hampton Inn. "I really don't think that this motel will be
pulling business away from our other Lincoln hotels," says Ladd.
"Rather, it will be bringing back hotel guests that we're losing to
Springfield and Bloomington."
The development of the new motel comes at an opportune time for
providing accommodations to visitors attracted to the growing
tourism industry in Lincoln, Logan County and the surrounding area.
The Hampton Inn of Lincoln is expected to be completed and open for
business in April 2008.
