remains in effect until 6 am CST Sunday.
Snow is rapidly overspreading the area this morning. The snow may
become mixed with or change to sleet along & south Of the I-70
corridor by late morning.
Snow will taper off to flurries & freezing drizzle for a brief
period this afternoon. Before another round of snow moves in by
evening. Periods of heavy snow will be possible across parts of east
cntl il late tonight.
Before tapering off by Sunday morning, storm total snowfall will be
in the 6 to 8 inch range by early Sunday morning. With locally
higher amounts possible along & east of the I-57 corridor.
Blowing & drifting snow may continue to be a problem through the day
on Sunday.
A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow. Sleet.&
ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This
will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
