LCHS had one tournament champion, Lincoln Moore in original comedy.
The team also had a number of second-place finishers: Kaylyn
Engelhardt and Tony Curcuru in dramatic duet acting, Cameron Kurtz
in impromptu, Annie Sheley in declamation, and Kelly Knecht in
special occasion speaking.
Other finalists were Curcuru and Moore, third in humorous duet;
Stephanie Holford and Todd Schumacher, fourth in humorous duet;
Schumacher, fourth in dramatic interpretation; Hannah Snyder, fourth
in impromptu and fifth in extemporaneous; Cody Follis, third, and
Jairris Vermeire, fifth, in verse reading; and Brittany Reves,
eighth in oratory.

"This was our first time to go to Reed Custer," said Ed Jodlowski,
one of the LCHS speech coaches. "Different competition and a larger
field really is the only way to help us improve. If we only see the
same teams week in and week out, then how do we know how competitive
we are? Right now, we are attempting to do anything we can to
continue to make this [group of] kids grow in their performances,
and it is really helping."
Next week the team is closer to home at the Heyworth
invitational.
