[March 19, 2010]  (AP) Forecasters predicted showers and thunderstorms in the Great Lakes and Gulf Coast on Monday, and high temperatures rising into the 100s in the Southwest.

Scattered showers with possible thunderstorms were expected from the Northeast to the upper Mississippi Valley. Another front was expected in the upper Midwest and Great Lakes.

Both systems were expected to bring considerable rain to the Great Lakes.

Gulf Coast states were expected to experience showers and thunderstorms.

In the West, scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected from the Southwest to the Great Basin.

High temperatures were expected to reach into the 100s in the Southwest, Great Basin and Intermountain West.

Highs in the coastal Southeast were expected to be in the 90s, and the Northeast could see highs in the 70s and 80s.

The Plains were expected to rise into the 80s and 90s, and the Northwest was expected to see highs in the 80s and 90s.

Temperatures in the lower 48 states Sunday ranged from a low of 38 degrees at West Yellowstone, Mont., to a high of 114 degrees at Bullhead City, Ariz.
