[June 01, 2007]  (AP) A front sweeping across the Plains and the East was expected to cause storms throughout the country, while both coasts were forecast to be warm.

The most intense storms were expected over central Pennsylvania, while others were possible along the Appalachians and into the South. Heavy downpours were forecast for Texas and Oklahoma, though strong winds and hail were unlikely.

A low-pressure system moving into the Northern Plains could bring large hail and gusty winds to the Dakotas.

Skies were to remain clear in the West, while temperatures in the region's interior were expected to continue rising.
