[June 04, 2007]  The following recalls were issued May 27-June 2 by various federal and state agencies.

CANDLES CAN IGNITE

Royal Products Inc., of Brooklyn, N.Y. is recalling Vivre Royale Pine Cone Candles sold nationwide from October 2005 to December 2006. The candle's exterior coating and beads can ignite and catch fire. The fire resulting from the coating and beads on the exterior of the candle could ignite nearby combustibles.

This recall involves the Vivre Royale Pine Cone Candle, Item Number 41419. The item number is located on the packaging of the product. The warning label on the bottom of the packaging states, “Made in China. Royal Products Inc."

Consumers should return the candles to the place of purchase for an exchange or full refund.

CRIBS POSE FALL HAZARD

Song Lin Industrial Inc. is recalling Sleigh Round Cribs sold nationwide from January 2005 to March 2007. The assembly instructions included with the crib direct consumers to assemble the crib with the mattress support in the highest position and do not indicate that the mattress support can be moved to a lower position. This poses a fall hazard to children who are able to sit or stand up in the crib.

The Sleigh Round Crib, model #2005, measures approximately 42 inches in diameter, is made of solid wood and comes in a mahogany finish. The crib has four posts that are 31 inches in height and a portion of the side of the crib can be raised and lowered.

DIVING COMPONENTS CAN SEPARATE

Innovative Scuba Concepts is recalling Swivel for a Scuba Regulator sold nationwide from January 2006 to March 2007. The swivel, which is attached to a diving regulator, could separate while diving. This will result in a complete and sudden loss of the diver's air supply, causing the diver to engage in emergency ascent procedures.

The recall involves the HO110 Swivels sold as an aftermarket regulator component. There are no markings such as a date or production code embossed on the unit.

Consumers should contact the dive store where purchased for a refund.

PADDLE FLOATS CAN DEFLATE

NRS, of Moscow, Idaho is recalling NRS Sea Kayak Paddle Floats sold nationwide from July 2006 to March 2007. The plastic tubes used to inflate the paddle float could break and deflate, posing a drowning hazard to consumers.

The NRS Sea Kayak Paddle Float is an inflatable device that is attached to one side of the paddle to help the kayaker re-enter the kayak in open water. The paddle float is yellow and black and measures 15" wide by 28" long, before inflation. The NRS logo is on one side. This recall involves those paddle floats with inflation tubes that are clear or translucent.

CHILDREN'S JEWELRY CONTAIN LEAD

Tween Brands Inc., of New Albany, Ohio is recalling Children's Metal Jewelry sold nationwide at Limited Too or Justice stores from September 2005 to May 2007. The jewelry contains high levels of lead.

Some of the recalled necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and charms are metallic, multicolored, and have “High School Musical" or pictures of “High School Musical" actors printed on them. Others have frogs, hearts, stars, dogs with dog bones, flowers, and monkeys that hang from silver, black or brown chains or cords.

Consumers should return the jewelry to any Limited Too or Justice stores for a full refund.

FRONT BEARINGS ON HAWKEYE ATVS CAN FAIL

Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn. is recalling Model Year 2006 Hawkeye 2x4 and Hawkeye 4x4 ATVs sold nationwide from August 2005 to April 2007. The ATV's front bearing carrier can fail due to an insufficient amount of material thickness in the area where the lower A-arm and ball joint are attached which can result in a loss of control and a crash and/or serious injury to the operator.

Only certain model year 2006 Polaris Hawkeye ATVs produced prior to January 30, 2006 are included in this recall. All serial number ranges of the Hawkeye 2x4 model number A06LB27AA and the Hawkeye 4x4 model number A06LD27AA/AB/AC are included. The serial number (VIN) identification decal is located under the right-hand front fender and stamped on the lower portion of the frame behind the left front wheel.

STEERING POSTS ON HAWKEYE ATVS CAN BREAK

Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn. is recalling Polaris Model Year 2006 Hawkeye 2x4 and Hawkeye 4x4 ATVs sold nationwide from August 2005 to April 2007. The steering posts can break in the area where the handlebar attaches to the steering post. This can result in loss of steering control, resulting in a crash and/or serious injury to the operator.

Only certain model year 2006 Polaris Hawkeye ATVs produced prior to January 23, 2006 are included in this recall. All serial number ranges of the Hawkeye 2x4 model number A06LB27AA and the Hawkeye 4x4 model number A06LD27AA/AB/AC are included. The serial number (VIN) identification decal is located under the right-hand front fender and stamped on the lower portion of the frame behind the left front wheel.

SKI BINDINGS CAN UNEXPECTEDLY RELEASE

K2 Sports is recalling Marker M1 Demo Ski Bindings sold nationwide from October to December 2006. Skiers can unintentionally displace a lever at the rear of the binding which is used for fitting adjustment by ski technicians. If it is fully displaced, it can result in the unexpected release of the binding and possibly cause the user to fall.

This recall involves Marker M1 Demo ski bindings, which fit only on certain K2 skis with the K2/Marker Mod integrated mounting system. These bindings will not mount on other skis.

Ski shops have been advised to stop renting skis with these bindings until they have been repaired

TOY DRUMS CONTAIN LEAD

The Boyds Collection Ltd., of McSherrystown, Pa. is recalling Eli's Small Drums and Liberty's Large Drums sold nationwide from June 2005 to April 2007. The red paint on the drums contains high levels of lead.

The recalled decorative toy drums are made of wood and come with two wooden drum sticks. The sides of the drums are painted blue with white stars and the tops and bottoms feature an antique U.S. flag decoration. The Eli's Small Drum has item number 654933 printed on its hangtag and packaging. The Liberty's Large Drum has item number 654934 printed on its hangtag and packaging. The drums are packaged and sold separately.

Consumers should return the drums to the store where purchased for a full refund.

INFANT SWINGS POSE ENTRAPMENT HAZARD

Fisher-Price is recalling Rainforest Open Top Take-Along™ Swings sold worldwide from November 2006 to May 2007. Infants can shift to one side of the swing and become caught between the frame and seat, posing an entrapment hazard.

This recall involves Portable Rainforest Take Along Swings with a palm tree mobile and two hanging plush toys. Model numbers K7203, K7192 and K7195 are included in the recall. Model numbers are located under the right handle on the swing.
