[June 06, 2007]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Maple Ridge to sponsor bingo

Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor the bingo games at The Oasis on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m. Bring a friend and come join the fun.

Readers meet

The senior center's book club will meet Monday, beginning at 1 p.m. Rekindle the rewards of reading a book and ether sharing your thoughts with the group or just sitting back and listening to others. Refreshments will be provided.

VA service

The representative from the Veterans Administration will be at the senior center every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment necessary. Service is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Tuesday features pork chops, stuffing, salad, dessert and a drink for $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay to play cards. The reservation deadline is noon Monday.

Winners for the week announced

Eileen Kohl and Ann Hendrick were the weekday pinochle card game winners. Esther Will and Harold Goodman were the weekend winners for pinochle. The rummy winner was Betty Burger. Congratulations.
