The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Oasis potluck and bingo Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at
The Oasis for our monthly potluck. We will be featuring our Father's
Day special: hamburger and hot dogs, special dishes, salads, and our
homemade desserts. Bring a dish to pass. There is no charge for food
or beverage provided at this event. If you do not bring a dish to
pass and wish to make a donation, the suggested amount for the June
potluck is $1. Bingo, sponsored by the Christian Village, will
follow the potluck. The lunch drawing will be sponsored by Steak &
Shake, and there will also be a drawing from New Beginnings. Frances
Murray will provide our entertainment, with Mr. Meaker with his
clarinet. Come join the fun!
Writers to meet
The Memories class is scheduled to meet at 3:45 p.m. Friday in
the senior center's library. Writers are invited to join this lively
group to hone their writing skills. No reservation necessary. Please
bring writing material.

June birthdays
Birthday time! Come celebrate June birthdays with us at The Oasis
on Monday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. There will be games, prizes,
entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Bring a friend and come join
the fun.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 19 features hard-shell tacos,
salad, dessert and a drink for $3.75, or 3.25 if you stay to play
cards. Reservation deadline is noon Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Lucky Eichner and Mable Hoagland were the weekday pinochle card
game winners. Ann Hendrick and Alice Petro were the weekend winners
for pinochle. For five-in-one, the winners were Betty Burger, Bernie
DePuy and Henry Warnisher. Rummy winners were Dorothy Oltmanns and
Ruth Barry. Congratulations.
