The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension service to sponsor bingo The Logan County
Extension Unit will sponsor the regular Thursday bingo games that
begin at 1 p.m. Come join the fun and win food items.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family
and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Oasis board meeting
The Oasis board meetings are open to the public, and the June
meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday. To schedule
anything on the agenda, the board must receive notification in
writing on or before the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting
date.
Senior Health Insurance Program
The Oasis sponsors assistance to seniors through the Senior
Health Insurance Program. Volunteers trained by the Department of
Insurance are available to guide you through problems involving
Medicare, Medicare supplement, long-term care insurance, retiree
health plans, claims processing and appealing denied claims.

Blood pressure check
The Oasis offers free blood pressure checks every Friday
between 10 and 11:30 a.m. No appointment is necessary.
Bunco
The bunco games at the senior center will begin at 1 p.m. Monday.
Refreshments are provided by Marilyn Armburst from Regions Bank.
Winners of the last bunco games were Ann LaForge, Eleanor Bartman,
Jeanette Behrends, Ella Lee Graney and Marjorie Reiners. Come join
the fun!
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for June 26 features chicken salad sandwich,
carrots and celery sticks, tater tots, and dessert, and a drink for
$3.75, or 3.25 if you stay to play cards. Reservation deadline is
noon Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Ann Hedrick was the weekday pinochle card game winner. Pauline
Boward and Linda Hughes were the weekend winners for pinochle. The
winners at five-in-one were Tom Garrison and Bernie DePuy.
