U.S. Army Cpl. Francis Marion Trussel Jr. memorial service set for Friday          Send a link to a friend

[June 26, 2007]  Mayor Elizabeth A. Davis and the Lincoln City Council, along with the various groups of veterans in Lincoln and Logan County, have planned a community memorial service honoring U.S. Army Cpl. Francis "Frank" Marion Trussel Jr. of Lincoln. The service will be at 6 p.m. Friday in All Veterans Park, at the intersection of Union, Pekin and Water streets.

Illinois Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn, Illinois Sens. Larry Bomke and Bill Brady, along with officials from the city of Lincoln, AMVETS Post 71, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1756 and Lincoln American Legion Post 263 will lead the ceremony. Neighbors to Nations Pastor Tony Shuff will speak.

Trussel's wife, Jodi, and family members will attend.

The public is invited.
