[March 06, 2007]  Students at Lincoln Junior High School were evacuated early Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat was discovered written on a stall in the boys' bathroom.

The District 27 Safe School Plan was immediately activated. Eighth-grade students went to St. John Church, while sixth- and seventh-grade students walked to Central School to await pickup by parents.

Officials from the secretary of state's office were called in and searched the school with dogs. Lincoln police and fire departments, the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Logan County Emergency Management Agency, and homeland security officials all responded to the incident. An investigation will be conducted. Officials on the scene said that if there is a suspect, the matter will be turned over to the state's attorney to pursue.

Channels 17 and 20 were present to cover the incident.
