VA announcement
Veterans, if you have a service-connected disability rated by the
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and have a current letter from
the VA stating that you are in receipt of compensation or pension
from the department, you are entitled to a free Illinois
hunting and fishing license. The letter must be dated within one
year of the request for the license and the proper paperwork must be
in place. This license will now be issued as an indefinite license.
You will no longer be required to renew your license on a yearly
basis. The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs would like for
you to continue to come in and be updated yearly. Thank you.
