The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension service to sponsor bingo The Logan County
Extension Unit will sponsor the bingo games that will begin at 1
p.m. Thursday at The Oasis. Come join the fun and win food prizes.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family.
It is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Board meeting is open to public
The May meeting of The Oasis board is open to the public and is
scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday. The board must receive
notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month
prior to a meeting date to schedule anything on the agenda.
Memories class
The monthly Memories class is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in
the library at the senior center. No reservation is necessary.
Participants are asked to bring their own pen and paper to learn
skills needed to preserve memories for families and friends.

Food distribution
The Self Help and Resource Exchange Program distribution will be
4-5:30 p.m. Friday at the senior center. The SHARE program is an
outreach sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. For more

May birthdays
Birthday time! Come celebrate May birthday with us at The Oasis
on Monday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. There will be games, prizes,
entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Bring a friend and come join
the fun.
Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for May 22 features pounded pork with
mushroom gravy, buttered noodles, mixed veggies, dessert, and a
drink for $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation is
noon Monday.
Winners for the week announced
Eileen Kohl and Lucky Eichner were the weekday pinochle card game
winners. Geraldine Miller and Larry Van Bibber were the weekend
winners for pinochle. Rummy winners were Betty Burger and Ella Lee
Graney. Congratulations.
