College's student-run radio station, WLNX-FM 88.9, will start
broadcasting the men's and women's home basketball games live
starting Friday. The first broadcast will feature the Lady Lynx as
they take on Wright at 7:30 p.m.
John Malone, WLNX general manager,
hopes to bring the Lynx action to area listeners. "The goal of
89X is to be involved in community activities and to promote
activities at Lincoln College,”
he said. “Broadcasting the
men's and women's games is a great service to people who follow the
teams and cannot make it to the games. We have a great group of
students who are interested in sports play-by-play, and our
listeners will enjoy hearing them."
Students involved with producing the sports shows include sophomores
Chris Ackerman of Lincoln, Daryl Betts of Brighton, Josh Finchum of
Springfield and Bryan Gutmann of Buffalo Grove.
