[November 15, 2007]  MINIER -- The Olympia West Elementary School and the Minier-Armington Police Department are teaming up once again with various businesses, individuals, civic groups and area churches to provide Christmas gifts for the needy families in the Minier and Armington areas. Community Claus exemplifies the fact that the entire community has taken an active part in this worthwhile project to help those in need during the holiday season.

Organizers are looking for submissions of families or individuals who are in need during the upcoming holiday season. Please notify the police department if you know of such a situation. All referrals will remain confidential. Referrals for families in the Hopedale area will be forwarded to the Hopedale Lions Club for their long-standing gift-giving project.

In the years past, the assistance received has been wonderful.

There will also be a volunteer opportunity to wrap packages at the school on Dec. 19 from 1:15 to 5 p.m.

Questions can be directed to the police department at 309-392-2442, ext. 104.
