Wheat futures decline sharply on CBOT     Send a link to a friend

[October 09, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures slid sharply Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery fell 30 cents to $8.66 a bushel; December corn lost 2.5 cents to $3.3975 a bushel; December oats fell 2.5 cents to $2.7050 a bushel; November soybeans shed 15 cents to $9.2550 a bushel.

Beef futures were mixed, while pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle rose 0.13 cent to 96.25 cents a pound; November feeder cattle rose 0.40 cent to $1.1390 a pound; December lean hogs gained 0.83 cent to 59.47 cents a pound; February pork bellies rose 0.42 cent to 87.00 cents a pound.
