[October 10, 2007]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Oasis potluck and bingo

The Oasis will have a potluck Thursday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The menu will feature casseroles, special dishes, salads and wonderful desserts. Bring a dish to pass or a suggested donation of $3. Stay for bingo games, sponsored by Christian Village, and a drawing for New Beginnings. Bring a friend and come join the fun.

Muncheon Luncheon

The senior center will have a Muncheon Luncheon this Friday and again Oct. 18 and 29. Suggested donation is $1.

October birthdays

Birthday time! Come celebrate October birthdays with us at the senior center on Monday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. There will be games, prizes, entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Bring a friend and come join the fun.

Tuesday lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Oct. 16 features chicken and rice casserole, salad, bread and butter, and dessert for $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards.

Bingo at the Rec

The Tuesday night bingo special at the Lincoln Park District Rec Center for Oct 16 is a 33 percent, 45 percent and 50 percent computer sale. Get 33 percent off the computers for $8, 45 percent off a $16 computer for $9, and 50 percent off a $20 computer for $10. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games start at 6:50.

Winners for the week announced

Mina Bradburn and Lucky Eichner were the weekday pinochle winners. The weekend pinochle winners were Ruth Ackerman and Alice Petro. Congratulations.
