Wheat, soybean futures advance on CBOT  Send a link to a friend

[October 12, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Wheat futures jumped sharply Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade, while soybean and oat prices also rose.

Wheat for December delivery rose 30 cents, the maximum daily swing permitted, to close at $8.83 a bushel; December corn dipped 3.5 cents to $3.4375 a bushel; December oats added 0.75 cent to $2.7475 a bushel; November soybeans rose 13.25 cents to $9.815 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures jumped on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle rose 1.15 cents to 97.77 cents a pound; November feeder cattle added 1.4 cents to $1.1447 a pound; December lean hogs rose 0.75 cent to 60.52 cents a pound; February pork bellies gained 1.5 cents to 87.17 cents a pound.
