A hand-drawn picture made by a Logan County student in first to
fifth grade will be added to each of the books.
Sponsored by Main Street Lincoln, the initiative is chaired by
Tecia Hennessey and co-chaired by Roger Matson of Main Street
Lincoln Promotions Committee. They need your help in getting names
of soldiers and their addresses.
Donations for books are also requested. You can have a label
placed in a book with your name and sent to a soldier of your
choice.
The $15 donation covers the cost of the book and postage, with
$2.50 of that amount going toward a monument.
The monument will be 42 inches high and 10 inches thick with a
24-inch base. Its location has not been determined yet. But it is
anticipated to be located in Lincoln, either at the All Veterans
Park or at the Logan County Courthouse. The monument will
commemorate those who have served since Sept. 11, 2001.
