Results from speech contest at Zion in Lincoln

[October 15, 2007]  Nineteen students earned "judges' choice" awards at the Logan County Conference speech contest Saturday at Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln.

For duet acting, judges' choices were Zack Schierer and Jason Sheley, and Morgan Conrady and Lauren Stanfield, all from Zion Lutheran, and Haley Gehrke and Regina Marck from Carroll Catholic School.

Christian Arteman of Zion Lutheran and Justin White of Mount Pulaski Grade School received awards for solo acting. Earning awards for improvisational duet acting were Cameron Jodlowski and Clayton Welch of Carroll, Audrey Maske and Grace Tierney of Mount Pulaski, and Schierer and Jesse Mangano of Zion.

Maske, Madison Leinweber and Matt Southerlan of Mount Pulaski earned the award for small group humorous presentation. Trenton Trump, Zack Ladson, Caleb Coppinger of Mount Pulaski earned it for small group serious presentation.

Carroll students Kenny Newton and Kenyon Jodlowski were recognized by the judges for individual impromptu speaking and individual original script, respectively.

Students from Zion Lutheran, Carroll Catholic, Mount Pulaski Grade School and Chester-East Lincoln School participated in the speech contest.
