The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension to sponsor bingo The Logan County Extension Unit
will sponsor the regular Thursday bingo games that begin at 1 p.m.
at the senior center. Come join the fun and win nutritional items.
Alzheimer support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the
senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group
provides support and information for caregivers and extended family.
It is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Oasis board meeting
The Oasis board meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday and is
open to the public. To schedule agenda times, the board must receive
notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month
prior to a meeting date.
Food distribution date
The Self Help and Resource Exchange program distribution date is
Friday, with pickup between 4 and 5:30 p.m. at the senior center.
The SHARE program is an outreach sponsored by the Catholic Diocese
of Peoria. For more details, call 732-6132.
Bunco games
Bunco games at the senior center will be on Monday, beginning at
1 p.m. Refreshments are provided by Marilyn Armbrust from Regions
Bank.

Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Oct. 23 features chicken and noodle
soup, cheese sandwich, crackers, and dessert for $3.75, or $3.25 if
you stay and play cards. Deadline is noon Friday.
Bingo at the Rec
The Tuesday night bingo special for Oct. 23 at the Lincoln Park
District Rec Center is "Odd and Even." Each computer is numbered at
the top of the machine, and the first ball called for the night
determines the cash rebate. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; games start at
6:50.
Fall card party winners
The fall card party pinochle winners were Esther Will, Marie
Rogers and Irene Tumilty. The bridge winners were Betty Field, Mary
Wieland and Betty Oltmanns. Rummy winners were Dorothy Oltmanns,
Linda Hughes and Betty Burger. Winning door prizes were Doris
Bartman, Joyce Boyles, Betty Burger, Ruth Aper, Geraldine Miller,
Ann Hedrick, Ruth Ackerman, Marion Buse, Eleanor Barton, Marie
Rogers, Betty Oltmanns, Pauline Boward, Eileen Kohl, and the big
winner was Eileen Riggs.
Winners for the week announced
Henry Warnisher and Irene Tumilty were the weekday pinochle
winners. Weekend pinochle winners were Helen Opperman and Wilbur
Wilmert. Congratulations.
