[October 17, 2007]  (AP) The following recalls have been announced:

  • About 22,000 Huffy 2007 "Howler" and "Highland" bicycles, manufactured in China and distributed by Huffy Corp., because the bicycle crank can come off and cause the rider to lose control or fall. The company has received two reports of cranks coming off, one resulting in an injury. Details: by phone at 888-366-3828; by Web at http://www.huffybikes.com/ or http://www.cpsc.gov/.

  • About 5,700 Oro disc brakes for bicycles, manufactured in Italy and imported by Perigeum Development Inc., doing business as Formula Brake USA. The brakes are recalled because the hand lever can separate, causing the brake to fail. The company has received six reports of hand levers detaching, but no reports of injuries. Details: by phone at 866-458-3130; by Web at http://www.formulabrakeusa.com/ or http://www.cpsc.gov/.
