Rain accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are expected in southern Florida and the Bahamas. The interaction between Noel and a strong ridge of high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic is also likely to produce winds of 25 to 35 mph, with possible higher gusts over some of Florida.
Much of the East Coast, the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes and Ohio Valley can expect cold fronts Wednesday.
Light rain will persist over the central High Plains in the morning, and scattered snow showers and rain in lower elevations are likely over the Colorado Rockies Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday ranged from a low of 22 degrees at Moriarty,
N.H., to a high of 96 degrees at Rockport, Texas.
