[September 05, 2007]  (AP) A Pacific storm will move slowly eastward from the Northwest to the northern Rockies on Wednesday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to parts of the intermountain West, Rockies and northern Great Plains.

There is a slight chance the storm could bring strong to severe storms, including hail and heavy winds, to parts of northeastern Utah, eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. The Dakotas and northern Minnesota could also get strong thunderstorms.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in parts of the Great Lakes region through Wednesday morning, while a high pressure system should bring mostly sunny skies and seasonal temperatures to most of the East Coast.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue across parts of the central and southern Plains and Mississippi Valley.

Parts of the Southwest and Florida are also expected to get showers and thunderstorms.

Temperatures in the lower 48 states Tuesday ranged from a low of 31 degrees at West Yellowstone, Mont., to a high of 117 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
