[September 13, 2007]  CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) -- Douglas County sheriff's officials say a pilot whose single-engine plane landed on a golf course was able to walk away from the accident.

The pilot was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

He told deputies he was trying to land his Cessna 180 at Centennial Airport when he noticed he was having engine troubles. Sheriff's officials say he ended up landing in the rough at the golf course.

The plane was damaged, but details weren't immediately available.

The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating.

Sheriff's officials didn't release the pilot's name. He was described as being in his late 70s.
