[April

An intense storm system is
expected to push northward out of southern Oklahoma toward southern
Iowa by late Thursday. A warm front will approach from the south,
bringing periods of rain and thunderstorms into early Thursday
afternoon, followed by the threat for scattered severe thunderstorms
late in the afternoon and Thursday night. |
The greater risk for severe storms will be south of Interstate 70
later Thursday afternoon and evening. These storms could produce
damaging winds, large hail and a few strong tornadoes. Farther
north, the coverage of severe storms will not be as great, but there
is still the risk for a few storms to produce damaging winds, large
hail and tornadoes late Thursday afternoon and into the evening
hours, especially close to the low pressure area and warm front.
Logan County Emergency Management Agency anticipates activating
spotters later Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening --
roughly from 4 p.m. until midnight.
