[April 21, 2008]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending April 19: 

BATTERY CHARGERS 

Hobby-Lobby Int'l  is recalling Lithium-polymer battery chargers and lithium-polymer batteries sold nationwide from April 2006 to July 2007. The lithium-polymer batteries can ignite while charging, posing a fire hazard. 

The recall involves a lithium-polymer battery charger and batteries sold with the AT600 Falcon Helicopter kit. The recall also includes any spare battery (Model AT600B) or spare charger (Model ATS6046) purchased for this kit. 

Consumers can receive new batteries and a "smart" charger that will shut down when the charging process is completed by contacting sales@hobby-lobby.com

POWER STRIPS SOLD BY HSN 

HSN LP is recalling Charge-It-All Valets sold exclusively by HSN from October 2007 to January 2008. The power strip located inside the valet has undersized wires, which can pose fire and shock hazards. 

This recall involves the power strips sold with the medium and large Joy Mangano Charge-It-All Valets. The valet is a box with divided compartments that comes with a power strip that allows the user to recharge and organize items such as cell phones, mp3 players, PDAs and cameras in a single location. The letters J and M are printed in cursive under the valet. 

HSN is directly contacting consumers with the recalled units.

PUSH TOYS 

Santa’s Toy Corp. is recalling Western Rider Push Toys sold nationwide from February 2005 to February 2008. Surface paint on the glove, shirt, and pants of rider toy contains excessive levels of lead. 

The recall involves a push toy of a plastic horse with rider and a 20-inch long pole/handle. The horse and pole/handle together measures about 26 inches. The rider is wearing red pants and a green shirt. The horse comes in various colors. 

Consumers should return the toys to the store where purchased for a full refund.

CHARM KEY CHAINS

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is recalling "Hip Charm" Key Chains sold at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from April 2005 to April 2008. The charms on the key chain can contain high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.

The recalled key chain has several charms including a button, clover, leaf, heart and a sand dollar. The charms hang from a silver-colored chain. The words "Hip charm" and UPC (#31568 11017) are printed on the product's packaging.

Consumers should return the chains to any Wal-Mart store for a full refund.
