--Jennifer M. Wheeler, female, 23, of Lincoln; 2004 Pontiac Grand
Prix
--Nicole D. Schafer, female, 22, of Delavan
Wheeler stated that as she was trying to back out of her parking
spot, her vision was obscured by people surrounding her vehicle and
she was unaware she'd hit someone until she was notified by a
witness. Officer Geriets interviewed the victim at the scene.

Crash on Aug. 6 at 4:42 p.m.; on South Logan Street, 50 feet
south of Broadway Street
--Dennis M. Popeck, male, 59, of Lincoln; 1993 Ford Tempo
--John L. Benjamin, male, 60, of Lincoln; 1984 Ford E-150 van
--Debra P. Kunkel, female, 51, of Lincoln; 2006 BMW 330
--David R. Kitzmiller, male, 36, of Lincoln; 2005 Chevrolet
Silverado
Benjamin, Kunkel and Kitzmiller were all northbound on South
Logan Street, stopped at a stoplight. A witness, who was northbound
on South Logan behind Popeck, stated they were preparing to call the
police department to report Popeck for appearing intoxicated. The
witness stated that they observed Popeck fail to slow down and
strike the rear of Benjamin's vehicle. Benjamin's vehicle pushed
into Kunkel's and Kunkel's pushed into Kitzmiller's. Popeck was
taken from his vehicle by emergency personnel and transported to the
hospital.

Tuesday, Aug. 12
Rahn, Anthony P., 40-year-old male, Lincoln; arrested Aug. 11 on
Interstate 55 mile marker 126, northbound; Class B -- no valid
driver's license over one year
