Lincoln College Lynx sign Peoria Manual's Augusta

[August 12, 2008]  Former Peoria Manual basketball player Cortez Augusta has signed with Lincoln College to play basketball for the Lynx. Augusta played in all 30 games last year and helped lead Manual to a second-place finish in the Class 2A state championship with a 24-7 record.

Augusta will be a perimeter player for the Lynx.

Lincoln College head men's basketball coach Kirk Whiteman is happy Augusta chose the Lynx. "I was surprised and extremely excited to get a player such as Cortez this late in the summer from a championship high school program," said Whiteman. "What I liked about Cortez is his toughness, strength and ability to defend."
