 The senior team also honored Ross Bruenger, of Clinton, as this
year's winner of the C. Wayne Schrader Award. This award is
presented to the player who displays the attributes, on and off the
field, that best represent Lincoln American Legion Post 263. Ross
was also recognized for his significant contribution to this year's
team, as he won more games than any other pitcher, as well as being
a major contributer in the field and at the plate.This year's
John West Most Valuable Player award was presented to two players.
Michael Fleshman, of Lincoln, was honored for his major
contributions to the team in pitching, defense and at the plate.
Michael played in every game this year, hit lead-off for most of the
year and also was a starting pitcher. Austin Maske, of Mount
Pulaski, was honored for his major contribution to the team also.
Austin led the team in batting average (.488), runs scored (18),
hits (39), triples (4), home runs (4), stolen bases (11) and runs
batted in (21).
