Parts of Nevada, California, Oregon, Idaho and Utah were tagged with a red flag warning as severe weather conditions increased the risk of fire.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday ranged from 34 degrees at Bryce Canyon, Utah, to 100 degrees at Thermal, Calif.
