[December 30, 2008]  MILLIKEN, Colo. (AP) -- About 6,000 people were left without water for about 10 hours over the weekend and town officials were unable to immediately explain why.

DonutsMilliken public works director Mike Woodruff said the town lost 750,000 to 1 million gallons of water but crews could not locate a water line break or other reason for the missing water.

Water had been restored to most of the town by Sunday afternoon.

Tankers staffed by the Milliken Fire Department to provide emergency water were not used.

Milliken is about 40 miles north of Denver along Colorado 60 west of Interstate 25.
