[February 11, 2008]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending Feb. 9: 

TOY GARDENING RAKES 

Downeast Concepts Inc. is recalling Toy Gardening Hand Rakes sold nationwide from June 2007 to November 2007. The paint on the gardening tool hand rake contains excessive levels of lead. 

The recalled toy gardening tool hand rake has a wooden handle and a plastic yellow bottom. "Backyard and beyond Garden Tools" is printed on the toy's tag which hangs from the toy's handle. 

Consumers should return the rakes to the store where purchased for a replacement toy hand rake.

CHILDREN'S SWEATSHIRTS 

Seventy Two Inc. is recalling Bonafide Love Hooded Children's Sweatshirts sold nationwide at Nordstrom stores from November 2007 to December 2007.

The garments have a drawstring through the hood, which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. 

This recall involves the Bonafide Love children's hooded sweatshirts. The hearts and stars style is green and in the front has a heart surrounded by pink stars. On the reverse, it is hot pink with light pink dots. The Robots style is gray with drawings of robots and pink hearts. On the reverse, it has a zebra-like pattern with gray and black stripes. "Bonafide Love" is printed on a label sewn into the collar. 

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings or return the sweatshirts to Nordstrom or to Seventy Two for a full refund.

CHILDREN'S SKETCHBOOKS 

eeBoo Corp. is recalling Sketchbooks with Colored Spirals sold nationwide from September 2005 to January 2008. The paint on the sketchbooks' colored spiral metal bindings contains excessive levels of lead.

The recalled children's sketchbooks have colored spiral metal bindings, drawing paper, and cardboard covers. "eeBoo" is printed on a sticker on the back cover.

CANDLE CHARMS 

Benjamin International is recalling Pendants and Candle Charms sold nationwide from January 2002 to November 2007. The recalled pendants and charms contain high levels of lead. 

The recalled pewter pendants were sold in eight collections of 12 pendants each. The pendant collections included Signs of the Zodiac, Runes, Ritual, Goddess, Chinese Zodiac, and Celtic Harmonies. The pendants were sold separately and on candles of various colors and scents.

GIRLS BICYCLES 

Trek Bicycle Corp. is recalling Trek MT220 Girls Bicycles sold nationwide from April 2004 to June 2007. The bicycle's frame can break during use, causing the rider to lose control and suffer injuries. 

This recall involves Trek girls' bicycles model MT220 and model years 2005 (light metallic blue), 2006 (metallic silver and metallic purple or pink and pearl white), and 2007 (pink and white pearl or metallic purple). The model name is printed on the frame of the bicycle. Model year 2008 bicycles re not included in this recall. 

Consumers should return the bicycle to a Trek dealer for a free replacement MT220 girl's bicycle or a $100 discount on a different size Trek bicycle.

TOY INSTRUMENTS 

West Music Company is recalling Transparent Toy Egg Shakers sold nationwide from October 2006 to December 2007. The end cap can detach from the egg shaker and allow the small beads to spill out, posing choking/aspiration hazards. 

This recall involves clear, plastic egg-shaped instruments with various color beads inside. "Basic Beat" and "Jumbo Egg Crystal" is printed on a label attached to the plastic bag packaging. Model numbers "BB5102" and "202212" are printed on the side of the label.

CHILDREN'S TABLE AND CHAIR SETS

Netshops is recalling Children's Table and Chair sets sold nationwide from November 2007 to December 2007. The surface paint on the children's table and chair sets contains excessive levels of lead.

The recalled table and chair sets are natural colored. The table is either round or rectangular, has a shelf under the table and includes two chairs. Model number ALZ024-3 or ALZ023-3 is printed on the packaging.

Chattem Issues URGENT  Nationwide Recall of Icy Hot® Heat Therapy™ Products

Chattem, Inc. is initiating a Nationwide recall of its Icy Hot Heat Therapy products, including consumer "samples" that were included on a limited promotional basis in cartons of its 3 oz. Aspercreme® product. This recall is being conducted to the consumer level.

Chattem is recalling these products because it has received some consumer reports of first, second and third degree burns as well as skin irritation resulting from consumer use or possible misuse of these products.

All lots and all sizes of the following Icy Hot Heat Therapy products are affected by this recall:

1. Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat- Back

2. Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat- Arm, Neck, and Leg

3. Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat- Arm, Neck, and Leg single consumer use "samples" included on a limited promotional basis in cartons of 3 oz. Aspercreme Pain Relieving Crème.

NOTE: if products have been removed from their holding cartons the recalled products are packaged in a red colored plastic pouch which states Icy Hot Heat Therapy and either Back or Arm/Neck and Leg.

Single consumer use "samples" of Icy Hot Heat Therapy- Arm, Neck and Leg were included on a limited promotional basis in yellow and red cartons of 3 oz. Aspercreme Pain Relieving Crème. The samples were distinct and stand-alone products, clearly labeled as "Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat," with their own internal labeling.

These products are sold over the counter through food, drug and mass merchandisers.

Consumers who have the Icy Hot Heat Therapy products under recall should immediately stop using the products, discard them, and/or return them to Chattem, Inc.

This recall only involves the above listed Icy Hot Heat Therapy products including single consumer use "samples" that were included in cartons of 3 oz. Aspercreme Pain Relieving Crème and does not involve any other Icy Hot or Aspercreme products.
