Another wet storm was forecast to hit the West Coast on Monday evening, with most of the precipitation to remain west of the Cascades. Rain was to fall in the low elevations in Washington and Oregon.
In California, wet weather was expected to linger over the northern and southern portions of the state in the early morning hours. This rain will push into the Southwest throughout the day and turn into snow over the high elevations of the Rockies.
Another area of wet weather was to move through the Great Lakes, and a cold front was forecast to descend from the storm into the Mississippi and Ohio valleys.
The East Coast was to continue enjoying clear skies and warm temperatures as high pressure continues to bulge over the Southeast. The Northeast could see a few more clouds throughout the day as the low from the Great Lakes approaches.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Sunday ranged from a low of minus 13 degrees at Big Piney, Wyo., to a high of 88 degrees at Laredo, Texas.
