The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Bingo sponsored by Maple Ridge Maple Ridge Care Centre will
sponsor the bingo games Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m., at The Oasis.
Oasis closed for the 4th of July
The senior center will be closed Friday for Independence Day and
will resume activities on Monday. Happy freedom!
Oasis ice cream social
The fourth annual Oasis ice cream social is Saturday from 1 to 4
p.m. Ice cream and cake will be served, or you can make your own
waffle bowl sundae. The cost is $4. There will be entertainment for
all ages. All profit goes to support the services and activities at
the senior center.
Meeters and Greeters
The Meeters and Greeters group will meet Monday, beginning at 2
p.m. This group of volunteers visits once a month with those who
cannot get out, to add a bright spot in their life. If you would
like to participate or would like more information, please call

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for July 8 features barbecue sandwich,
three-bean salad, carrots and celery sticks, and dessert. The
suggested donation is $3.75. If you stay and play cards, the cost of
the meal is $3.25. The deadline to make a reservation is Monday
noon.
Bingo at the Rec
The special for Tuesday night bingo at the Lincoln Rec Center is
"Monkey Around." Buy two Monkey Business games and get a $20
computer for $15. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early bird is 6:50.
Card winners
The winner for weekday pinochle was Lucky Eichner. The weekend
winners were Ann Hedrick and Helen Opperman. The winners at
five-in-one were Judy Morrow and Dorothy Oltmanns.
