The first day of the 2008 Logan County Fair was not without
excitement as an evening thunderstorm knocked out power to the
fairgrounds for a time and pushed the queen contest indoors.

Last year's fair queen and the Lincoln/Logan
County Chamber of
Commerce Ambassadors opened the 2008 Logan County Fair on Tuesday
morning with "fanfair." |

The animals were ready. In fact, these
browns were so relaxed they were just lying around chewing their
cud. |

The midway was decked out, the vendors were
ready, and the rides were waiting for the opening-night crowds to
descend. |

Colorful displays provide the pitch for the
food vendors hawking fair food delights. |

Local organizations and businesses were set to
give out information. |

The Ferris wheel stands silent waiting for the
amusements to begin. Bad weather prevented the amusement park
from opening on Tuesday. |

These sheep are all dressed up with nowhere
to go. Thesy have donned outfits to keep them presentable until the
sheep competition. |
