[June 05, 2008]
The National Weather Service in
Lincoln has issued a flood warning in effect until 10:15 a.m. Friday
for small streams in Logan County. |
Law enforcement officials reported that flooding was continuing
Thursday morning along both Salt Creek and Kickapoo Creek due to the
heavy rain that has occurred over the past three days. Additional
rainfall expected Friday may aggravate the ongoing flooding problem.
Flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area,
move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along creeks and
streams should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property. Do not attempt to cross swiftly flowing waters or waters
of unknown depth by foot or automobile.
Report any flooding to your local emergency manager or the
nearest law enforcement agency for relay to the National Weather
Service.

[June 05, 2008]
The flood warning for Logan,
DeWitt, Macon and Piatt counties ended at 6:45 a.m. Thursday. |
Excessive runoff from heavy rain has ended over the area. Streams
and creeks in the area have receded or are beginning to recede,
ending the flooding threat. It was anticipated that a few rural
roads in Piatt County might still be affected until 8 a.m. or so --
Route 32 south of Cisco and Shady Rest Road west of White Heath --
but conditions were expected to improve during the morning.
To report flooding, have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service.
