[March 03, 2008]  Lincoln Youth Wrestling had four wrestlers compete in the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation sectional tournament Saturday at Shelbyville High School.

Max Koning finished second in the 70-pound weight class after losing the championship match in overtime. He was 3-1 for the day. Max's second-place finish gives Lincoln Youth Wrestling its highest finisher in the state series in its six-year history. Luke Koning, Max's older brother, was the previous best finisher, with a fourth in last year's sectional tournament. Max has qualified for the Midget State tournament in Danville March 14-15.

Conner Routson, Brent Metelko and Tim Parker also competed Saturday but were unable to advance.
