The games scheduled are March 21 against Plainfield South and March
27 against Bloomington High. The April broadcast is yet to be
determined. Ken Schweitzer, longtime color man for Railer
football, will do the play-by-play.
Ash was pleased his station is going to be able to air the games.
"Railer baseball doesn't get the coverage other Railer sports team
receive, and I think this is great that Logan County and all of
central Illinois can now follow the Railer baseball team at least a
little during this season," he said.
The station currently has a broadcast radius that encompasses
over 730,000 residents in the heart of Illinois.
Ash wanted to point out that this opportunity presented itself to
the station through the efforts of the Lincoln Railer Baseball
Boosters, who were instrumental in obtaining the necessary sponsors.
"Our station has had a long commitment to Railer football and
basketball, and I think it's great we have the opportunity to give
these young baseball players the notoriety their hard efforts
deserve," he said.
The programs are going to be aired on 96.3 at 4:30 p.m.
Information on the April game and any other possible broadcasts will
be announced as soon as possible.
