[March 24, 2008]  (AP)  The Northwest was expected to have wet weather Monday as a broad area of low pressure centered in the Gulf of Alaska brings continued onshore winds to Washington and Oregon.

The moist winds will cause precipitation to form along the coastal mountains and in the Cascades.

Snow and rain were likely in Montana and North Dakota.

The southern half of the country was expected to have pleasant weather, and temperatures were to rise significantly in the Western Plains.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Sunday ranged from a low of minus 14 degrees at Yellowstone, Wyo., to a high of 94 degrees at Yuma, Ariz.
