Moving east, significant rain was forecast through the Middle Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley in the morning. The moisture was to move steadily into the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England where additional rain was likely and snow was possible.
Snow was also expected to continue in the Northern Plains.
Flooding was a concern in the Middle Mississippi Valley.
The Northeast was to rise into the 30s and 40s, while the Southeast was to see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The Southern Plains were to rise into the 80s and 90s, while the Upper Midwest was to see temperatures in the 30s. The Northwest was forecast to rise into the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Wednesday ranged from a low of 3 degrees at Land O' Lakes, Wis., to a high of 95 degrees at Laredo, Texas.
