            SPRINGFIELD -- The 44th District is 
			slated to receive more than $23.41 million for road and bridge 
			improvements in the coming fiscal year, according to state Sen. Bill 
			Brady, R-Bloomington.

			 The 44th District senator released details of 19 local projects 
			included in Illinois' $1.9 billion road plan for fiscal 2009, which 
			starts July 1, 2008. The six-year plan also includes an additional 
			$143.6 million for local roads and bridges.Fiscal 2009 projects 
			for the 44th District: 
			
			Logan County 
			
			
				- 
				
$950,000 for bridge 
				removal and demolition on U.S. 136 at Old GM&O Railroad 0.2 mile 
				east of First Street in San Jose.  
				- 
				
$100,000 for land acquisition costs for 
				a project on U.S. 136 at Old GM&O Railroad 0.2 mile east of 
				First Street in San Jose.

				- 
				
$4,690,000 for 
				resurfacing 5.18 miles of I-74, from McLean County line to Piatt 
				County line. Includes safety improvements and bridge joint 
				repair.

				Illinois 10 and Illinois 48, at 0.9 mile east of Illinois 48 and 
				at 0.3 mile north of Illinois 10 at Weldon.

				resurfacing 4.06 miles of Illinois 72, from 4.41 miles west of 
				Piatt County line to 0.3 mile west of Piatt County line. 
				Includes safety improvements and bridge deck overlay.

				bridge replacement on Illinois 48 at Friends Creek, 0.8 mile 
				north of Elm Street in Argenta.

				Old Illinois 29, from Old Illinois 29 to Old Illinois 29 in 
				Berry (around fertilizer plant). Contingent on jurisdictional
