[May 24, 2008]  SYCAMORE, Ill. (AP) -- There's at least one city left in the United States where you just have to feed a penny into the parking meters: Sycamore, Ill.

Meters in this north-central Illinois city cost a penny for 12 minutes, a nickel for one hour and a dime for two hours, police chief Don Thomas said. And if you have a quarter you can buy 12 hours of parking.

The meters have been in town since the 1920s.

Last month, the City Council voted to quadruple the parking fine for unpaid meters to a dollar from 25 cents.
