[November 03, 2008]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending Nov. 1: 

RestaurantTEALIGHT HOLDERS 

Crate & Barrel is recalling Ghost Tealight Holders sold nationwide from August 2008 to October 2008. The recalled tealight holder can ignite posing a fire and burn hazard. 

The recalled product is a metal tealight candle holder in the shape of ghost. The product is white with a black base. They were sold by Crate & Barrel as a set of 3 (SKU #370-846 and/or Catalog Item #X2006) and by other retailers as individual units (SKU #770123). The SKU can be located on the product’s packaging. 

Consumers should return the holders to the store where purchased for a full refund.

HALLOWEEN FIGURINES 

Coyne’s & Company Inc. is recalling Casper the Friendly Ghost® Halloween Mini-Figurines sold nationwide from June 2005 to September 2008. The recalled Halloween figurines contain high levels of lead in the paint. 

The recalled Casper the Friendly Ghost® mini-figurines are made of resin and paper, and are three inches tall. The Casper the Friendly Ghost® figurines are dressed as: Dracula in a red spider bag, Skeleton in a green spider bag, Devil in a purple spider bag, Mummy in an orange spider bag, Casper® in a blue spider bag, and Wendy the Witch® is in a yellow spider bag. The figurines are stamped with TM & ©Harvey Ent. "Coyne’s & Company" and "CP1030" are printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the bags.

TREADMILLS

Cybex International Inc. is recalling Cybex Treadmills sold nationwide from January 2001 to September 2008. The treadmills can speed up unexpectedly while in use due to a malfunction with the lower control board, posing a fall hazard. 

The recall involves the Cybex 445T, 455T, 530T, 450T, 500T, 515T, and 520T treadmill models. The treadmills are black and gray with rectangular uprights. The 530T style treadmill is 81 inches long by 32 inches wide. The 445T style treadmill is 72 inches long by 32 inches wide. The treadmills have a display panel on a console as wide as the treadmill. "Cybex" and the model number are written on the console.

POWER ADAPTERS 

Battery-Biz Inc. is recalling Duracell 130W Combo Power Adapters used with notebook computers sold nationwide from February 2008 to March 2008. The adapters can fail and overheat. This can pose a burn hazard. 

This recall involves the Duracell 130W Combo AC/DC adapters with model numbers EA10900, AC-6501, and DRUM130 and date codes 0804 and 0805. "DURACELL UNIVERSAL POWER ADAPTER" is printed on the front of the power adapter. The model and date codes can be found on the rating label on the back of the power adapter.

SERTA MATTRESSES 

Serta International Mattress Co. is recalling Serta Zipper-Covered Foam Core Mattresses sold nationwide from December 2007 to May 2008. The mattresses fail to meet the mandatory federal open flame standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard. 

The recalled mattresses have a zipper cover over a foam core. The mattresses were sold in twin, full, queen, king and California king sizes. They were manufactured between November 30, 2007 and May 20, 2008. Visit www.recalls.org for a complete list of the recalled mattresses.

Mars Petcare US  Recalls a Limited Number of Bags of SPECIAL KITTY® Gourmet Sold at Wal-Mart locations due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

Mars Petcare US is recalling a limited number of bags of SPECIAL KITTY® Gourmet Blend dry cat food sold at Wal-Mart locations in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia. The pet food is being recalled following a positive test result indicating a potential contamination with Salmonella.

This product should not be sold or fed to pets. Pet owners should dispose of product in a safe manner (example, a securely covered trash receptacle) and return the empty bag to the store where purchased for a full refund.

MIXERS 

MEDport LLC is recalling Fit & Fresh™ Smooth Blend Mixers sold nationwide from September 2007 to August 2008. While placing the cup on or off the base of the mixer, the mixer can unexpectedly turn on, activating the blade. This can pose a serious laceration hazard. 

This recall involves Fit & Fresh™ Smooth Blend Mixers with item number 770FF and model number SB-19. Fit & Fresh™ is printed on the front of the base. The recalled mixers can be identified by the date code, a four-digit number located on the bottom of the base. Date codes included in the recall are: 2707, 4407, 5207 and 0308.

This recall involves the external power adapters sold with the following DYMO LabelWriter® 400 series printers: DYMO LabelWriter 400, DYMO LabelWriter 400 Turbo, DYMO LabelWriter Twin Turbo, DYMO LabelWriter Duo and DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution with housing date codes 2407, 2507, 2607 or 2707. The date code is printed on the plastic housing of the adapter.

CHAIN SAWS 

Homelite Consumer Products Inc. is recalling Homelite Chain Saws sold exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide from December 2007 to October 2008. The chain brake can fail to stop the chain on its first application, posing a risk of laceration. 

This recall involves Homelite brand chain saws with the following model numbers: UT10514, UT10516, UT10517, UT10518, UT10520, UT10540, UT10560 and UT10918. Affected chain saws have manufacture date between November 2007 and August 2008. Both the model number and the date of manufacture appear on the chain saw’s data plate, located beneath the rear handle of the saw.

WOODEN TOYS 

Earth Friendly LLC is recalling Wooden Toys sold in Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington from April 2008 through September 2008.

Small parts can detach and break from the toy, posing a choking hazard. In addition, the size of the rattle handle violates voluntary rattle standards. 

This recall involves three models of wooden toys. Moee the car, Cubby the stackable bear and the Bell rattle. The toys are painted in glossy red, orange, green, red, black and yellow.
