Aggravated kidnapping suspect nabbed

[November 07, 2008]  On November 8, 2008, Lincoln Police Deparment Officers, along with Mason City Police arrested Richard E. Andrews in Mason City, Illinois.

The arrest culminates a month long investigation into the attempted armed robbery and kidnapping of a Lincoln woman that occurred on October 9, 2008 at the Lincoln Dental Center located at 411 Keokuk St., Lincoln, Illinois.

A search warrant was executed at Andrews residence, 304 South Logan St., Mason City.

Andrews, who is 49 years-old, was driving the suspect vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Photographs of the vehicle and a sketch of the suspect was provided to area news media. This information was instrumental in identifying the suspect and the subsequent arrest. Andrews is being held in the Logan County Jail.
