Aggravated kidnapping suspect nabbed

[November 08, 2008]  On Friday, Lincoln Police Department officers, along with Mason City police, arrested Richard E. Andrews in Mason City.

The arrest culminates a monthlong investigation into the attempted armed robbery and attempted kidnapping of a Lincoln woman that occurred on Oct. 9 at the Lincoln Dental Center, 411 Keokuk St.

A search warrant was executed at Andrews residence, 304 South Logan St., Mason City.

Andrews, who is 49 years old, was driving the suspect vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Photographs of the vehicle and a sketch of the suspect were provided to area news media. This information was instrumental in identifying the suspect and the subsequent arrest. Andrews is being held in the Logan County Jail.
