Coroner names new deputy

[November 18, 2008]  Logan County Coroner Robert Thomas has announced the addition of Jason Southerland of Atlanta to his staff of deputy coroners effective Dec. 1.

Southerland is a member of the Logan County Sheriff's Auxiliary Police and serves with the Atlanta Rescue Squad.

"Because deputies rotate hours worked and on-call shift coverage, adding staff does not translate to increased staffing costs," Thomas noted. "It simply divides that cost among more individuals. I am confident Southerland will be an asset to the coroner's office."

Southerland joins Nathan Fricke, Warren Rogers, Les Payne, Tim Centers and Doug Brooks as a deputy for the coroner's office.
